Internal Hemorrhoids

Internal Hemmorrhoids
This is a photo taken just inside the rectum showing a case of Internal Hemorrhoids. You can see them bulging inside the opening of the anus. Hemorrhoids never turn to cancer, but can cause symptoms of swelling and bleeding. Usually internal hemorrhoids do not cause much pain. When internal hemorrhoids cause problems, simple measures often are effective. If simple treatment is not effective, we now can treat many internal hemorrhoids with a simple office procedure called Infrared Coagulation (IRC). In some cases, surgery is needed to control excessive bleeding. For more information, take a look at this article on hemorrhoids.
