Cancer of the Stomach

 

Stomach Cancer
This 59 year old nurse had no stomach complaints, but was found to be anemic during a routine physical exam. Many women are a little anemic during their menstrual years, but anemia is not expected after menopause. Tests were done to find the cause of her anemia. Colon cancer was suspected, but a colonoscopy exam was normal. This small stomach cancer was found during a gastroscopy exam. She required surgery and chemotherapy but survived. It was a good thing she had a blood test to check for anemia during her routine physical exam. This just shows the value of routine maintenance....
